When integrated solutions first became available, they were a great idea for improving laboratory efficiency and service to doctors and patients. But we believed we could take it further. In developing the VITROS® 5600 Integrated System,*Ortho Clinical Diagnostics worked with 60 different laboratories to study their unique needs and processes—to learn how integration could help, and where it might fall short. From that knowledge, we used our integration-by-design approach to create an integrated system that is the first of its kind, with an innovative sampling approach and patented enabling technologies to consolidate and simplify testing. The VITROS® 5600 Integrated System* is expected to:
+ Have 150 reagent positions, allowing over 100 chemistry, immunoassay or infectious disease assays to be on board at once
+ Provide greater efficiency by integrating our 5 proven proprietary technologies (MicroSlide™, MicroTip™, MicroWell™, Intellicheck , and MicroSensor™)
+ Optimize turnaround time and productivity
+ Provide high reportable result efficiency that improves labor effectiveness
and lowers costs
+ Verify system processing and result reporting while reducing errors The result is a “one-tube-in, one-tube-out” workflow that minimizes staff interventions, takes up less space, and helps contain costs
