Description

The 3500xL Dx Genetic Analyzer is a 24-capillary CE-IVD-marked member of the Applied Biosystems™ 3500 series of genetic analyzers based on capillary electrophoresis.

Reliability
• High accuracy—using BigDye™ Terminator v1.1 or v3.1 Sequencing Standards, the instrument has shown >99% read accuracy
• Proven results—Applied Biosystems genetic analyzers are a trusted standard for both Sanger sequencing and fragment analysis

Flexibility
• Provides a dual mode user interface: the Diagnostic Mode and the Research Use Only Mode
• Enables both fragment analysis and Sanger sequencing in the secure Diagnostic Mode
• Enables import of validated sequencing and fragment analysis assay protocols to run in Diagnostic Mode
• Offers different configurations to meet your throughput needs: this 24-capillary version and an 8-capillary version

Simplicity and efficiency
• Reduced instrument hands-on time with simplified installation
• Controlled and efficient run setup with intuitive user interface, preconfigured plate templates, and software-controlled functions (plate setup, data collection, analysis)
• Maintenance calendar with programmable prompts and service history functionality
• RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tracking of consumables, built-in quality controls, and real-time data quality evaluation
• SAE (Security, Audit, and Electronic) signature capability to assist with compliance to governing regulations

The 3500xL Dx Genetic Analyzer is a trusted capillary electrophoresis-based platform for development of your assays. Capillary electrophoresis-based applications are supported by a large number of publications over the many years that they have been used successfully in laboratory testing. The 3500xL Dx Genetic Analyzer is a partner in your laboratory, making it easy for you to comply with various industry standards and train new users.

The 3500xL Dx Genetic Analyzer includes a computer system and associated data collection software, as well as an installation kit with the initial set of accessories and reagents needed to start using the instrument right away. It is backed by a comprehensive service and support program with options to purchase additional services per your laboratory maintenance and audit requirements.

Intended use
The Applied Biosystems 3500 Dx/3500xL Dx Genetic Analyzers are intended for use by trained operators in the analysis of human DNA or RNA, for the detection of genetic changes that may lead to disease presence or susceptibility.

Note: The 3500xL Dx Genetic Analyzer data collection software uses the Windows™ 7 operating system.
